Discoveries!

The Rainbow Massif was already famous for its high-temperature hydrothermal activity. Thanks to the ROV Victor 6000, operated from the N/O Pourquoi Pas ?, the Arc en Sub team made exciting new discoveries: the massif also hosts an extinct high-temperature site and active low-temperature seepages with bivalve colonies and bacterial mats, as well as areas with fossil shells next to carbonate vents.
